*NEW* COMPETITION COACH (ADVANCED) SPECIALIST
An English Competition (Advanced) is a gradation (progression) within the Competition Coach context. A Competition Coach (Advanced) Specialist is working with riders/horses in Provincial/National competitioin and refining equestrian skills of participants of all ages who wish to compete at this level.

Competition Coach Specialist Prerequisites
Candidates MUST complete the following prerequisites PRIOR to applying for the Competition Coach Evaluation.
- Be 18 as of January 01 (training can begin at 17 but must have turned 18 by the evaluation)
- Hold a current OEF membership
- Hold a current EC Gold (at minimum) Sport License
- Successfully complete of the English Learn to Ride Level 8
- Hold a current First Aid Certificate with CPR (Standard is recommended)
- Sign the Equine Canada Code of Ethics and Coaches Code of Conduct
- Sign the Equine Canada Acceptance of Risk Form
- Successfully complete the NCCP Making Ethical Decisions online evaluation – visit www.coach.ca to access the evaluation.
- Candidates must have a working knowledge of EC rules for the level and disciplines they are teaching.
- Candidates must also be familiar with stable management, including feed, conditioning, first aid for the horse, grooming, stable construction, safety and fire precautions in the stable.
- As well as completing the above, a potential Coach 2 candidate must provide proof of the following for their chosen discipline (by providing competition records signed by the secretary/organizer, copies of passport pages or providing testimonials):

At least two years coaching experience producing at least two (2) students who have placed in the top four (4) at a minimum of two (2) Silver or Gold shows at 3'0" (90cm - no clear round clases) in the hunter or jumper divisions |

** To exit the process and become fully certified as a Competition Coach (Advanced) - Specialist in Eventing, within the time frame (maximum of 3 years), the candidate must be actively coaching a minimmum of one (1) student who has successfully completed at least one CNC 1*/national Preliminary Horse Trials competition achieving target performance standards as set by the Canadian Eventing Coaching Committee.
