*NEW* Equine Canada Competition Coach Program
The National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) is a government-initiated program designed to give the public safe, qualified Instructors and Coaches at every level of all sports.
NCCP is curring moving from the "levels" context (Coach 1/Coach 2) towards a competency/outcome based education, training and certification program (Competition Coach/Competition Coach Specialist)
The link bellow will open a package which describes the evaluation and certification process for the Competition Coach Program. This certification process has been developed based on the NCCP Competency Rubric as prepared by the Coaching Assocation of Canada (CAC) and Equine Canada (EC). It is inteded to be a transparent, fair, equitable and standardized system for evaluating candidates.
There are several steps in the evaluation and certification process. To achieve certification, a candidate must meet the minimum standard for each task, as described in the evaluation rubric and as evaluated by an EC Evaluator. If a caniddate does not adequately meet the minimum standard in any single task, he/she must take part in another evaluation for that task. All re-evaluations are up to the discretion of the evaluator/Provincial Sport Organization (PSO). The evaluator will outline when re-evaluation is recommended and what additional training may be required/recommended for the candidate.
