Equine Canada is seeking an energetic, well organized professional for the newly created position of Manager of Recreation.
Under the leadership of the Chief Operating Officer, the Manager of Recreation will create a new department of Recreation for Equine Canada. He/she plans, leads, coordinates and evaluates the operations and delivery of the Equine Canadas recreation activities. He/she spearheads the creation and development of new recreation programs, initiatives and procedures; recommends, implements and monitors recreation and equine health and welfare policies; and serves as the primary staff liaison for the Recreation Council and the Equine Health and Welfare Committee.

Experience and Qualifications
The ideal candidate has :
Post secondary education in Recreation, Leisure Studies or Business or an equivalent combination of education and experience
3 5 years experience in a management role
Demonstrated knowledge of planning and evaluating the operations and delivery of recreation programs, budget administration, and volunteer management
Demonstrated knowledge of equestrian or horses
Strong communication and project management skills
Strong computer skills including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint
Bilingualism preferred
