Ride On Over to the 3rd Annual Toronto Horse Day
Toronto Horse Day is a free, family friendly event taking place at the Horse Palace, Exhibition Place on Saturday June 11 from 11am to 4pm. People of all ages will have the opportunity to learn the basics of horsemanship through a fun and interactive program.
Avid equestrian and actor Daniel Fathers, best known for his roles as Uncle Brown in Disney’s “Camp Rock” & “Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam” and as Stewart Forrest, Canadian Olympic Equestrian Trainer/Coach on CBC’s “Heartland” will be participating as the official ring emcee showcasing different riding and driving styles and various horse breeds. The live demonstrations will begin at 12pm and will include jumping, reining, dressage and driving just to name a few!
In addition to demonstrations, the program includes interactive stations and displays that will provide information on basic horse care, fitness benefits of horseback riding, tack and apparel, and much more! Horse professionals including a farrier, vet, and a jockey will be on hand to meet visitors and answer questions and Greenhawk Harness and Equestrian Supplies will be hosting a free helmet fitting station. The Toronto Mounted Police will be giving guided tours of their stable and introducing the police horses. Woodbine Entertainment Group will introduce participants to the exciting world of thoroughbred and standardbred racing and acclaimed equine artist, Debbie Goldring, will provide budding artists tips and tricks on illustrating horses.
Visitors will also have the chance to enter the “horseless horseshow” for a chance to win great prizes, participate in the “Dream Horse” colouring contest and ride a simulation horse.
