The Great Lakes still suffer to this day under the burden of too much phosphorus. Equine farms and horse operations can contribute unknowingly to the overall phosphorus additions to the Great Lakes through manure handling procedures and by not necessarily following best management practices on their farms. We are looking for equine farm owners from Simcoe and Dufferin Counties to assist with the development of community based social marketing programs that would be initially targeted at Equine farmers in pilot programs south of Georgian Bay. If you would like to assist by attending a short focus group session on this topic, please contact Ryan Post at rpost@nvca.on.ca
