Equine Canada is seeking an energetic, well organized professional for the newly created position of Manager of Recreation.
Under the leadership of the Chief Operating Officer, the Manager of Recreation will create a new department of Recreation for Equine Canada. He/she plans, leads, coordinates and evaluates the operations and delivery of the Equine Canada’s recreation activities. He/she spearheads the creation and development of new recreation programs, initiatives and procedures; recommends, implements and monitors recreation and equine health and welfare policies; and serves as the primary staff liaison for the Recreation Council and the Equine Health and Welfare Committee.
Experience and Qualifications
The ideal candidate has:
• Post secondary education in Recreation, Leisure Studies or Business or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• 3 – 5 years experience in a management role
• Demonstrated knowledge of planning and evaluating the operations and delivery of recreation programs, budget administration, and volunteer management
• Demonstrated knowledge of equestrian or horses
• Strong communication and project management skills
• Strong computer skills including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint
• Bilingualism preferred

Primary Responsibilities:

Through trend analysis and sales data, plan product requirements and forecast upcoming needs

Define, track, and improve key product metrics

Source new items/vendors to improve quality, costs, margins and sales

Manage vendor performance & relations

Community Association for Riding for the Disabled (CARD) is currently seeking an Executive Director.
This is a 12 month contract position.
Role Overview:

Manage, direct and provide assistance/support to the Department Heads, who will function independently of the Executive Director to carry out the assigned responsibilities of their departments and projects.

Develop and oversee current, and future, therapeutic riding programs at CARD. Ensure CARD’s services are held to a high level of professional standard, therapeutic effectiveness and safety.

Ensure the hiring and on-going training of professional and effective staff members.

In conjunction with the Board of Directors and the Finance Staff, develop, present and implement the annual operating budget.

WINDREACH Farm is looking for New Volunteers
to assist with their Therapeutic Riding Programs
Volunteer Opportunities Include:

Leaders – Individuals would lead and control the horse. Must have horse handling experience
-
Side walkers – Individuals would watch over and support the riders. Are not required to have horse handling experience, just the desire to assist and learn
Lessons programs run Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings – 4:00pm to 8:00pm
High school program runs Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 11:30am
