Annual Committee Meetings & Annual General Meeting

The OEF Councils will be hosting meetings and presentations beginning at 9am on Saturday November 26, 2011 in the Pavillion at the Delta Meadowvale Resort & Conference Centre.  Everyone is welcome to attend.

Marketing Perspectives: the pilgrimage from TV land to the high speed social landscape ~ presented by Jason T. Griffiths, M.Sc., Creative Donkeys Inc.
Jason currently manages a multi-media studio in London, Ontario. After receiving his Masters of Science from the University of Guelph, he worked for BASF before moving into marketing communications. Jason has worked on accounts with a full portfolio of top agricultural clients as well as Kawasaki recreational products, AT&T and London Life. His team has recently assisted with the development of the new OEF website and trade show elements.


Social Media: how companies are utlilizing the open tools to support and market their products ~ presented by David Pong, Adb Solutions
David studied computer sciences at York University and has been working in computers since the inception of the PC.  He has worked for Apple Canada as an Account Consultant and owned an Apple Computer Dealership (the largest in Canada at the time with 110 employees).  He currently owns a development company working in custom databases, web integration and iPhone apps.  His current and past clients include Sobeys, Chartered Accounts of Canada, Bochner Eye Institute, City of Toronto, City of Brampton Transit, City of North York, CBC and a number of design and law firms.

OEF Recreation Funding Program ~ presented by Jack de Wit, Recreation Council Chair

Discussion on the Recreation Funding Program and how your club or organization in Ontario could be eligible to apply for this funding.  In partnership with Equine Canada, the OEF distributed approximately $25,000 in funding to worthy projects and education programs for local clubs throughout Ontario.  The OEF is committed to continuing this program in 2012.

Target Audience: Anyone involved in a recreation group including saddle clubs, hunt clubs, trail groups, etc.

2011 Year in Review and Board Election ~ Chaired by Allan Ehrlick, OEF President

1:00 pm - Associations Council

Build Your Case: Writing Effective Grant Applications ~ Presented by Al Will, Al Will & Associates Inc.

 Al Will of Al Will & Associates Inc. (www.alwill.ca) will talk about how to ‘build your case’ for writing a grant. This session is for Non-Profit Organizations or Registered Charities only. Al will use the Ontario Trillium Foundation as an example (www.trilliumfoundation.org) and will identify a few other foundations that might be appropriate for equestrian organizations. Al has written or ghost written over 80 successful Trillium applications totalling in excess of $4 million.

Target Audience: Those involved in non-profit organizations and registered charities

Panel Discussion - Focusing on how to promote our sport, increase attendance, get sponsorship and keep it!
Panelists include: Glenn Crouter - Vice President of Media and Community Relations, Woodbine Entertainment Group ~ Sandy Hawley - Hall of Fame Jockey and Public Reltions Ambassador for the Ontario Jockey Club ~ Ken Denouden - Joker's Hill Horse Shows, EC Recorded Status

Target Audience: All competition and event organizers and promoters
